My Best Friend
Mom was and will always remain my best friend. She was always there for me, lending an ear, a hug, a giggle, or a swift kick in the pants when I needed it. I feel so lost without her here, but I am grateful knowing that she is no longer in pain or suffering. She was the strongest woman that I have ever known. No matter what life tossed her way, she fought and overcame those battles with a passion like none I have seen before. Mom has always told me how proud she was of me, always boosted my confidence in myself, and guided me through life with a firm but loving hand. I cannot imagine my life without her here, to laugh with, cry with, and our little gossip sessions. Mom had loved the large tree that I have in my front yard, she would sit on the porch and just smile as she looked at it. She told me that she found it a lovely site to watch it go from the bare, skeletal image and turn into the lovely and full tree come spring. This is Our tree now, a forever rememberence of mom. I love you mom and as others tell me that I am exactly like you, I will smile and thank them for the highest compliment ever given. I miss you so very much, yet I know that you are still watching with that smile upon your face. One day we will be together again and I will feel your arms about me as when I was a child. You are my inspiration, my hero, my mother. Rest in peace mom, I love you more than words can say.
